Information We Collect

When you use Untrade, we collect information provided through Steam authentication:

  • Steam ID and profile information (username, avatar)
  • Steam trade URL (when you provide it)
  • Trade history on our platform
  • Account balance and transaction records

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Process and complete trades
  • Maintain your account and balance
  • Prevent fraud and abuse
  • Improve our services
  • Communicate important updates

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All communications are encrypted using HTTPS. We do not store Steam credentials - authentication is handled directly through Steam OpenID.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as required to provide our services (e.g., Steam API for trade processing) or when required by law.

Cookies & Analytics

We store two kinds of data in your browser:

  • Essential: your login session and your cookie settings. The site can't sign you in or run trades without them, so they are always on.
  • Analytics: we use PostHog to see how the site is used. It records the pages you visit, what you click, your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the site or campaign link that brought you here. Once you sign in, this is linked to your Steam ID and username. We also keep a first-visit cookie that tells us which link first brought you to Unskins, and save it to your account when you sign up.

Analytics data is for internal use only: to improve this site. It is processed in PostHog and, for search traffic, Google Search Console. We never sell or share your data.

Analytics is on by default. To turn it off, open (also in the site footer) and switch off Analytics. PostHog then stops collecting in that browser and no new first-visit cookie is written. Your choice is kept in your browser, stays in place when you sign in or out, and applies to that browser only. Records of your trades and account are still kept, because we need them to run the service.
